Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains how Legal Highlight, a French entreprise individuelle (micro-entreprise) (SIREN 888 133 766), trading as Renovation Register (“we”, “us”), collects and uses personal information about US residents. We are the business responsible for the information; registered office 6 Rue Jean Cocteau, 13200 Arles, France. Contact: hello@renovationregister.com. This policy reflects the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, other US state privacy laws where they apply, and Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act.
1. Who this applies to
- Homeowners who submit a free project enquiry;
- Contractors / partners who apply for a Verified Partner subscription; and
- Listed contractor businesses we may contact about relevant enquiries.
2. Information we collect and why
Homeowner enquiries
When you submit an enquiry we collect your name, email, phone, ZIP code and project details. We use this to match you with one relevant State Contractor License-licensed contractor in your area and to send you a confirmation. We collect this information to provide the matching service you requested. We do not sell your information and do not share a single enquiry with multiple contractors at once.
Verified Partner applications
When a contractor applies through our verification flow we collect the contact name, email, phone and the company selected, plus payment status. We use this to process the application, create an account, take payment and provide the subscription. If you opted in to the marketing box we also use your details to send partner tips and offers; you can opt out at any time using the link in any such email.
Listed contractor businesses (directory & outreach)
Our directory includes contractor businesses sourced from public license registers (e.g. State Contractor License), including business contact details. Where a homeowner enquiry matches no Verified Partner, we may send the relevant enquiry to a nearby, suitably licensed contractor business as a free introduction, and we may contact listed businesses about becoming a Verified Partner. This is business-to-business outreach. Every such message identifies us and carries a one-click unsubscribe; once you opt out we suppress your address and stop (see Section 8 on commercial email).
Technical & analytics data
We use first-party, privacy-first analytics to understand how our pages and signup flow perform. We store anonymous events (e.g. page views, scroll depth, signup-step progress) with a random session identifier in your browser’s local storage — not advertising cookies, and not sold or shared. We also briefly process IP addresses to rate-limit forms and prevent abuse.
3. Who we share information with
- The matched contractor — for a homeowner enquiry, the single contractor we route it to.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments (we do not store card details).
- Resend — our email delivery provider, to send transactional and (where applicable) outreach email.
- Cloudflare — hosting, security and bot protection.
These providers act as our service providers under contract. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
4. Where information is processed
Our processors (e.g. Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare) process information in the United States. By using the Service you understand that your information is handled by US-based providers under their own security and privacy commitments.
5. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and account information for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, accounting and dispute requirements, then delete or de-identify it. Suppression-list entries are kept indefinitely so we can continue to honor your opt-out. Analytics events are retained in aggregate for trend analysis.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence (for example, under the California CCPA/CPRA and comparable state laws), you may have the right to know and access the personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email hello@renovationregister.com; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
7. How to complain
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) (ftc.gov) or the Attorney General of your state (for California residents, the California Attorney General at oag.ca.gov).
8. Commercial email (B2B outreach)
Our business-to-business outreach emails are sent on an opt-out basis in
accordance with the federal CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. §7701 et seq.). Every
message identifies us, uses a truthful subject line, includes a valid physical postal
address and a working one-click unsubscribe, and is sent from
renovationregister.net. We honor opt-outs promptly and add the address to a
permanent suppression list. We do not email recipients in states that restrict or prohibit
unsolicited commercial email (currently New Mexico, South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana,
Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma and Washington), and our subject lines never mislead, in line
with California Business & Professions Code §17529.5.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
10. Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always published here. Questions: hello@renovationregister.com or hello@renovationregister.com.
